Leave can be applied for in hours and days & ability to hide show hour/day
We have introduced new flexibility when applying and viewing leave to view / and or apply in both
hours and days.
To ensure consistent management all leave balances and records are still recorded in hours in
the back end of the database.
This view can be applied by company and by leave type

With the new leave framework it’s possible to apply for more than a whole day of leave and even
use the application form for credit leave applications (to use the system for credits with HR3
payroll connected systems some configuration is typically required).
After the update it is suggested a maximum value is input against the Company as a minimum.
This can be done under Employee (Employee Details in the USA) > Admin > Company.
By default after the update Maximum negative durations will be set to zero but can be modified as
Multi week employment cycles – e.g. rostered fortnight (Biweek, 3 Weeks, 4 weeks
Employment Conditions (or profiles) can now be set to have multi week cycles. This is useful if
your employees work on different days on a rotating basis.
To use this new function you will need to establish and assign a new employment condition setup
with the required number of weeks.
Once established you will be able to add and assign to your existing employees. Please note that
with a multi week cycle you need to be conscious of the Order – unless a period start date is
specified it is assumed that based on the employees hired date the 1st week will start during the
1st working week.
Leave (Time Off) records now have an additional day by day breakdown for
simplified reporting and extraction
All Leave (Time Off) records are stored with a day by day breakdown and allocation. You
employees and managers will not see a major difference as it’s largely behind the scenes.
The new framework allows for easy extraction for payroll based on date irrespective if the leave
extends over the end or begins before the start date.
Performance Rater additions can now be displayed
Rater changes can now be restricted at the template level. Simply deselect Allow Changes under
the Rater selection on the Review Setup tab.
Performance Option to default Overall Score to calculated score and hide
employee potential value
The Overall Score can now be fixed to equal the calculated score in addition the Employee
Potential selection can be hidden if not required.
New Payroll (HR3) Leave Balance form, Workflow and Wizard Layout
HR3 Payroll connected systems now have an updated Leave Balance Form matching the
features available our non payroll systems. This now allows you to project future leave balances
of leave at a specific date (either present day or in the future) with out the need for your
employees to raise a workflow
The leave request workflow wizard/wizard layout is now updated. At a company and leave type
level you can determine if leave will be entered in days or hours and provide and determine if the
converted value is provided for information.
In the below screenshot leave is entered in hours with no set minimum amount and a day
equivalent value has been provided.
Please note there have been two minor changes
1) The part day adjustment button has been removed – instead if an employee adjusts the
calculated hours then a note will be required
2) Previously employees entered the hours worked on the day. This has been changed for
input of the hours/days of leave required / taken.
Ability for HR3 Payroll connected systems to support non payroll employee leave
Clients with HR3 payroll can manage leave independently of payroll for non payroll entities
including defining leave types, accrual rules and balance management for non payroll entities.
Ability for HR3 Payroll enabled systems to add projection/accrual rules to all leave
types if required
HR3 Payroll enabled clients can now define leave accrual / projection rules to any leave type.
Previously HR3 enabled applications could only project Annual Leave
It is suggested for first time setup coordinating some setup assistance from our support team.
To enable this you will first need to create an accrual rule.
These are setup in the Leave (Time Off) module and Admin form.
Step 1: Go to the Leave module and Admin form. Under the Leave Rules tab, you are able to
establish projection/accrual rules to leave types.
Step 2: You will need to determine where the accrual rule should be set. In most cases this can
simply be set against the Leave Type – but if required you can allocate specific rules against the
Employment Condition (profile) or at an Employee level under Leave Settings.

A report on custom / generic workflows has been added. You will need to enable Create Report
access in the System module and Workflow Admin form to view this new report.
These changes are made under the Access tables in the System module. Below is a sample of
the report output.
New Recruitment Send Email Options
Send Applicant’s via email has been enhanced with the following options
• Check all Documents / Uncheck all. Previously if you wanted to include the applicant
documents you had to check each one individually
• Option to send as a single email. Previously the only option available was to send
applicants (and their applications) in individual emails – which makes it easy to respond
to but if a large number were selected it may have caused email overload for the
receiver. You now have the option of sending in a single email.
• Ability to input a send to email directly. Previously you could only select an existing
employee. This was helpful to ensure that the email address and minimize errors, but to
provide some additional flexibility you can now input a specific email address (without an
employee record if required).
New Recruitment feature Download all documents for selected applicants
A new recruitment action has been introduced allowing you to download all applicant documents
into a ZIP file. This was introduced to allow the quick download of resumes etc if needed to
provide to a third party.

alert rules for different groups
Alerts can now have additional Employee Group filters applied – allowing you to have different
alert setups for different employee groups e.g. Company, Location, and Department etc
